This pioneering conference will explore how to enhance the integration of polar scientific research and heritage conservation in the context of a changing global climate.
The conference is ideal for, but not limited to, those engaged with polar: climatology, geoscience, biology, polar programmes, heritage policy, governance and conservation.
The conference will take place at the University of Canterbury campus in Christchurch, Aotearoa New Zealand.
The ICOMOS International Polar Heritage Committee, the University of Canterbury’s Gateway Antarctica and UiT, Norway’s Arctic University will facilitate this hybrid conference.
The final day of the conference will bring the various themes of science, technology, archaeology, and heritage to bear on our rapidly changing polar climate.
