13:00-14:30 at Teams
On Monday, 8th April 2024, 13:00 – 14:30, Arctichubs will present findings from our Work Package 3 – Exploring Local Perspectives: Insights into Existing Economic Activities in the Arctic from Selected Hubs.
The primary goal of ArcticHubs WP3 is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the impacts of both new and established economic activities (such as fish farming, forestry, tourism, mining) on local, including indigenous, communities throughout the Arctic region. This involves drawing lessons from analogous situations outside the Arctic, such as in the high alpine region. The WP3 webinar serves as a platform to introduce and explore local perspectives regarding existing challenges. This understanding is derived from the analysis of select locations, providing insights into the unique issues each community faces. Additionally, this approach allows for cross-case comparisons, offering a broader and more holistic view of the challenges and opportunities across the Arctic.
