The Arctic is warming at a 4 times faster rate than the rest of the world which current climate models fail to replicate. Do we have the knowledge we need to understand the consequences of warming, rapidly melting sea ice and snow, and how to prepare for the future? This CRiceS webinar presents recent research on the effect of sea salt aerosols emitted in sea ice regions on the polar climate. Through presentations and a panel discussion, it gives insight into how models can and need to be improved for a better understanding of the present-day and future polar climate.
Presentations: Markus Frey (BAS) and Rémy Lapere (CNRS)
Panel: Ruth Price (BAS) and Ulas Im (Aarhus University)
Chair: Annica Ekman (Stockholm University)
