The EU Polar Cluster is holding an open workshop at the Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) on the 29th of March 8:00 to 12:00 in Aarhus, Denmark.
"Polar Science beyond projects: Legacy, policy and impact"
The workshop is designed to help highlight and summarise lessons learnt and to develop key recommendations for people who would like to increase the societal impact of their projects, even beyond the life of the project.
Session 1 will focus on Dissemination, and includes two presentations:
- How to succeed in reaching policy makers? (Rolf Rødven, AMAP)
- EU Polar Cluster project dissemination experience (ILLUQ & NUNATARYUK) (Alexandra Meyer, UNIVIE)
A 30 min panel discussion, followed by 15 minutes of open discussion between the panel and audience will then follow:
Panel: “Best practices for translating science results into societal value”
Panelists: Nicole Biebow, AWI (EU PolarNet, POLARIN), Hanne Christiansen, UNIS (ILLUQ, NUNATARYUK), Giuliana Panieri, CRN-IPS, Rolf Rødven, AMAP, and Deniz Vural, AWI (APECS)
Moderator: Sabrina Heerema, GRID-Arendal (SEA-Quester, Arctic Passion)
Session 1 runs from 8:00-9:30. The event will be hybrid, and all participants (even online) need to register for ASSW here: https://assw.info/registration
Session 2 will be on "Building project legacy: lessons from past experiences".
Session 3 will be an open discussion on "Looking forward: Improving project dissemination and legacy planning".
